The Book and CD When Paul Frisbie launched this project he intended it to be a simple CD. You never know when a show is going to get derailed in one way or another, so Paul started recording every night. The idea was to collect -- live -- all the funny things that happen when an entertainer is forced to take a few side trips before he can return to the planned presentation. The results are hilarious. You won't hear much of Paul's actual act on this CD, but you'll definitely get a crash course in crowd control as you listen to Paul handle interruptions, cell phones and hecklers in a dozen different cities. It was only after Paul had completed the CD project that he realized there would be interest in the tricks and techniques being demonstrated in the live performances. That prompted him to write the accompanying book, also entitled "Hell Gigs and Hack Lines." The CD demonstrates technique in action. The book explains the principles behind the technique. It also contains a glossary of standard show biz stock lines and heckler material. Together they're a crash course in stagecraft and crowd control. |
